Saturday, for the first time ever, 4 J Class yachts will raced around the Isle-of-Wight for the magnificent 'Kings Hundred Guinea Cup'.
This cup, 2 feet tall of gilded solid silver, was first presented in 1937 by King George VI for racing at the Royal Northern and Clyde Yacht Club. The Cup was presented to the owner of the winning J Class yacht Lionheart.
The race, again hosted by RSYC, started on the RYS line off Cowes, and was sailed over the original clockwise course around the Isle of Wight, for the 1851 Hundred Guinea Cup Race, which is now known as the "America's Cup".
I'll make a little here and show these wonderful works of art, the boats of the class j, with carefully chosen pictures that a cold Sunday night, here in the newsroom of "The Yacht-man, avelok sailing magazine."
A kiss and a cheese at all, fair winds and a great week begins!
